How Our Network Works
Who You Talk To
You talk to two parties. First, Purchasednewspaper Plumbing takes your request and routes it. Second, an independent provider in our network speaks with you about the job. The provider is a separate business. The provider does the work, sets the price and answers for the repair.
What Happens on the Call
Expect short, direct questions:
- What is happening, and where in the house?
- Is water still running? Did you shut off the main valve?
- How old is the house, and has the pipe been repaired before?
- What is your address in Minneapolis or nearby?
Your answers help match you to a provider who handles that work. Availability varies by provider and by day. Many can respond quickly, but no timing is promised.
What to Ask a Provider
Good questions save money and stress:
- Are you licensed and insured for this work in my state?
- What is your estimated arrival window?
- How do you price: flat rate, hourly, or by the job?
- Is there a trip or service fee, and is it part of the final price?
- Will you give me a written quote before starting?
- Can you inspect a sewer line with a camera?
- If the pipe is old, what could you find once it is open?
- Does the work come with any warranty, and what does it cover?
Typical U.S. costs vary widely by job, home and access. Always get the quote in writing.
You Are in Control
You can decline a quote. You can compare. You can ask the provider to stop and explain. Requesting an estimate carries no obligation. If nothing is actively flooding, take a little time on larger jobs to compare options. Keep photos of damage, since providers can often help document it for a claim. Check your policy for what applies.
